Let’s get real about the Pros and Cons on Medical Marijuana and CBD & other Cannabinoids derived from Hemp!

More and more states in the United States are legalizing Medical Marijuana today, so it is time to look at the subject on a lot of people’s minds. Medical Marijuana is defined as herb cannabis or marijuana (Cannabis Sativa L including its constituent cannabinoids THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids) prescribed by a physician to treat certain medical conditions. Typically having higher amounts of CBD and lower amounts of THC. I think it is high time to point out a few things people may or may not know about the issue. The federal government still has marijuana listed as a class 1 schedule drug in the Controlled Substance Act (CSA), in December of 2018 the President signed the Farming Act of 2018 which takes Hemp out of the CSA and places it into an agriculture category making it legal federally to cultivate and produce products from. There is deception out there as to the benefits of Medical Marijuana versus the benefits of CBD derived from Hemp by different groups for whatever their reasoning because if you really think about it, we already have available to us the exact same cannabinoids in Hemp.

As of January 2019, there are 33 states to legalize medical marijuana. The laws vary from state to state, like how it is produced and distributed, how it can be consumed, what medical conditions it can be used for, and the legal amounts to be possessed by an individual.  The commonality of all the states is it must be prescribed by a physician. Each state varies by the physician requirements. Now the federal law states that it is a controlled substance and that means per certain federal laws you may not own, possess or purchase a firearm as a cardholder of medical marijuana. Some of the states that have legalized it have stipulated some of these issues in their individual medical marijuana laws.

Have we really thought about how to go about getting a physician to prescribe medical marijuana for us? Some states stipulate that you must have a primary care physician prescribe it for you. Also, have we thought about the Medical Facilitator (Hospital) associated with the doctors? Will their policies advocate for or flat out deny access through their associated doctors? Each state will vary somewhat on covered conditions deemed necessary to obtain a medical marijuana card.

I think the white elephant in the room is the simple question of “Will insurance companies cover medical marijuana?”. Sure, some insurance companies may very well cover the cost after deductibles and spend downs have been met, but you will have some insurance companies that will hold out and deny coverage on it, for the simple fact that it is still federally considered an illegal drug.

As the laws in the country are changing, we already have had available to us a natural path that is legal and has shown to benefit some health conditions in some scientific studies. It is CBD derived from Hemp that is high CBD and low THC, containing no more than .03% of THC. Meaning you could receive the benefits of the cannabinoids without getting that stoned or high feeling that THC produces. Hemp is also a family member of the Cannabis Sativa L plant and contains the same cannabinoids as Medical Marijuana. People are sharing their personal stories about how it has helped them. Here at YSC we have seen and heard many of these stories. We do not make any medical claims, but we can educate and inform you from our experience. We have spent countless hours researching the subject and talking to people every day about it. Our experience has been driving us to be compassionate and knowledgeable and to become the very best at what we do. Our goal is to share testimonies, inform, and educate individuals so they may make their own choice with confidence. You will find that our team will explain different blends to you; Broad Spectrum with no THC content with CBD Isolate and specific Terpene blends or a Full Spectrum blends containing minute amounts of THC and other blends. With CBD derived from hemp, there are currently no exceptions on how to consume it. There are CBD Rich Hemp Oils that can be vaped on, taken sublingually, and used topically. There are even CBD Rich Hemp Oils that are water soluble for use in foods and drinks, there are CBD Hemp capsules and there is CBD Hemp Flower for smoking. So many possibilities to fit your specific needs. You don’t need a doctor to prescribe it for you. You may continue to keep your right to own, possess and even purchase firearms should you choose to use CBD derived from Hemp over Medical Marijuana.

Well, that definitely leaves you all with some food for thought! Know your CBD product!!Don’t be deceived!!

Misunderstanding labels can lead to deception in the CBD industry, especially with the ever-changing laws. Not only have the federal laws changed when it comes to hemp, but individual state laws are changing as well. Some companies in the industry are using these changing laws to their advantages to confuse and deceive people. So, let us talk about CBD Rich Hemp Oils and the difference between the plants that CBD can come from. Also, we can talk about the difference in an isolate and a full spectrum product. Understanding these differences can help keep you from getting fooled.

CBD and THC are cannabinoids from the cannabis family of plants that have shown promise for medicinal benefits in some studies. Talk around the nation from individuals using CBD is at an all-time high today, and we think for good reason. A majority of the American people are getting back to a more natural approach of living, like using CBD Rich Hemp Oils.  The hemp plant and the marijuana plants are both plants in the cannabis family, the Cannabis Sativa L. Hemp has higher non-psychoactive cannabinoids and low THC the psychoactive cannabinoid so the chances of getting high or stoned are just not present with this plant. Marijuana has a higher THC content and can induce a stoned or high feeling when using. The difference between the two plants is their chemical composition in cannabinoids. Ok then, CBD Rich Hemp oil is derived strictly from the hemp plant. Some CBD can be derived from the marijuana plant. Here at YSC, we have seen many good results from our clientele using the CBD Rich Hemp Oils derived from the hemp plant. Most everyone in the CBD industry can agree that the most adequate way to extract the CBD from the plant is through a C0₂ process, simply meaning cold-pressed.

Most people want to talk about milligrams of usage, however, that can truly be misleading too. There are several factors that can play into the mg usage for individuals. Mg dosing can be very different for different individuals. We have learned here at YSC an isolate product with strong terpenes can make a difference in usage. An isolate product most times is made with the CBD isolate, that means there are no other cannabinoids in that product. A full spectrum product will contain all the cannabinoids from the plant it is derived from.

One needs to look for quality in their choice of CBD products, also look at the labeling on those products. Make sure you understand the ingredients in the product. It is important to ask for lab reports on your products to be sure your CBD is what it says it is. So, I think understanding some of the information in this article can help.  Be wise and don’t get fooled.

All of us here at YSC have dedicated our time to educate individuals when it comes to CBD products. We have made it a priority to understand each of our products fully and put the utmost accuracy using only the best ingredients. We have been talking to folk about CBD for years now, in turn, this motivates us even more to become the very best at what we do. Our hope is to cut through some of the confusion for the individual and to help them make an informed decision on their CBD journey.

A CBD Story – Shirley’s Journey with CBD

Have you ever had that devastating moment that you hear that someone you know is afflicted by a terrible disease? Most of us have. Here at YSC we have consulted with many people that suffer from terrible diseases and afflictions. As a matter of fact, our lab creates special CBD oil blends and we also have become very familiar with Terpenes and what they can do in conjunction with CBD here at YSC.

One such individual stands out to us right now. Her name is Shirley. She came to us in April of this year from Kansas with late stage ALS. Oh, how we remember the day she came in as if it were yesterday. You see, Shirley was dead set against using opiate pain meds which is one of the reasons she chose to try the use of CBD. She was such a caring and sweet soul. Shirley was starting to lose her speech at that time. She had lost the use of her right arm completely, it was in a sling. We also believe breathing had started to become difficult for her as well. Her first purchase of CBD was a premixed blend of 1000mg CBD full spectrum and a topical salve. We talked with her often to see how she was doing. We could hear, in the phone calls, improvement with her speech very quickly. By May 2018 we were formulating a special blend just for her. Shirley reported to us that her arm started to become more mobile, of course hearing this just delighted us. As time passed Shirley began to live life again on her terms not the on the terms of the disease she was living with. Shirley did not use medications for pain nor did she use breathing apparatuses to help her breath. Shirley was enjoying life with her family again.  Shirley was admitted to a care facility and spent her last days making beautiful memories with her family.  Our entire team here at YSC was so moved and touched by Shirley, in a nutshell, she defines the passion of our company. Whether you are dealing with Anxiety or something as horrible as ALS we will take the time to listen and educate you so that you can make an informed decision on your CBD journey.

CBD-Nathan’s Story

Hey there, all of you! This blog is a little different from the usual ones. I wanted to share a more personal blog this time. You see,  we have had a few changes in team members here this year.  We hear stories from people all the time here. Our team is a very passionate and knowledgeable team that truly cares about the well being of the body and mind. The following is just one of the stories from one of our own personal team members here at Your Sunshine Company as written by the team member himself.

“Nathan’s Story”

“I wanted to start this by saying CBD is amazing! I am 19 and I just recently started taking CBD every day. It has only been a week, but I can tell that it is working! The normal person should take at least 15mgs a day to keep the body in harmony. Since I have been taking it, I have noticed that I am more focused, my personality has gotten better, and my back doesn’t hurt anymore. When I noticed that my back wasn’t hurting, that’s when I realized that this stuff really works! I have had back pain since I was in the 3rd grade and now that I an on CBD it has made my mood better, like before I was in pain and some days I had to put on an act to seem ok and happy. Now, I don’t have to act like I am ok because I am. I have people all day coming into the store and saying how it has changed their lives and it has changed mine. I plan on taking CBD for a long time and there are so many types of CBD products out there to take. There are topicals, oral drops, capsules, edibles and vaporable. I personally take Tranquility from Your Sunshine Company and I take it as needed but I at least take 15mgs to keep my mind and body at peace. I know what some of you are thinking, you’re just 19 and you don’t need to be on CBD; or you’re saying that it is for medical use but what you don’t understand is that the body is meant to receive CBD and it helps keep you from needing it for medical use. Everyone should be on CBD to keep your body in a harmony.

Nathan Clark.”

Our team here at Your Sunshine Company are all participating in the use of CBD products for their health. So, they all know the power it has and what it can do for others. Let us put a little sunshine in your life today.

Hey, did you know THC can overload the Endocannabinoid System?

It has come up several times in many conversations, is THC better than CBD and is CBD useless without THC? In my opinion, the answer to both questions is no. The reason I say this is because of the actual people we have been working with over the last 6 years. This is where science meets fact because of the actual proof we have witnessed in these people’s lives. In recent online conversations, I have been told that CBD is useless without the combination of THC. I could not accept that statement simply because I myself have been a living testament to the fact that one can truly get the healing power of CBD without the THC. I chose this path because I truly was getting sicker on the pharmaceuticals medications I was taking, not to mention the number of medications was growing to help alleviate the side effects brought on by some of the medications. I am in no way saying that pharmaceuticals don’t have their place. They just don’t in my life. I was searching for a better and more natural way to heal myself. What better way than going back to a plant-based natural medicine. The Native Americans have been using hemp for 1000’s of years. Ok, enough rambling on about me. So, I started trying to find more information about CBD and THC.

I read in some of my research online that humans and most other animals have what’s called an “endocannabinoid system” (ECS). The ECS includes a network of receptors throughout the body that allows us to feel high when THC is consumed. But is that the reason we have an ECS, to begin with – to get high? My short answer: No. The cannabis-induced euphoria we feel is more than likely best thought of as a biological afterthought. Our ECS allows us to get high, but that is not why we have it. We know this because the ECS existed long before humans developed any sort of relationship with the cannabis plant. In fact, the ECS was around before the cannabis plant even existed. I found that the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is important to our overall health. The word endo meaning within.

Researchers have investigated the history of cannabis and estimate that somewhere between 34 million and 6.3 million years it evolved long after the ECS had evolved in animals. So, in my interpretation and experience with CBD, I feel confident in saying the ECS was not intended for us to get high on. It is our internal healing center with its receptors working hard to keep us healthy. I like to say the human body was hard-wired to receive cannabinoids in the most natural way. Another one of my phrases is “I am getting high on CBD, and not getting stoned on THC”. The body responds to CB cannabinoids in such a way that it truly feels good.

I found out some interesting information floating around out there, as to say when in Rome…. Well not really. I did find in some of the information that THC can overwhelm the ECS system. So, I feel it is important to pass that on to all of you.

Say what?A daily dose of CBD could keep the doctor away; CBD for everyday use is beneficial to everyone!

The amazing benefits of CBD have recently exploded in the public eye, but did you know daily supplemental usage of CBD could benefit a person regardless of your health status? Yes, that’s right!

So, let me share with you my understanding of daily CBD supplemental usage. It helps to improve the body’s naturally occurring endocannabinoids to promote balance and homeostasis. Don’t know what homeostasis is? Well, it is the ability to maintain internal stability. The homeostasis properties make your Endocannabinoid System (ECS) stronger. CBD directly interacts with your ECS. The ESC is your body’s way of regulating numerous internal body functions including mood, sleep, appetite, inflammation, and immune function. So regardless of your current health state daily CBD usage could benefit you.

Cannabinoids found in hemp work together in what we know as the “entourage effect”, and specifically with natural terpenes found in hemp. Terpenes are the fragrant essential oils found in hemp and when combined with CBD can create a perfect harmony in your ECS (entourage effect). This provides the balancing effects. There are numerous benefits to this balance.

CBD has been known to have many benefits to help people with their health issues, but just think what you could help and/or avoid by taking a daily regiment of CBD. It is recommended for the average person to take at least 15mg of CBD daily.

CBD can supplement the body with nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, terpenes, and other flavonoids. Sometimes with our busy lifestyles, we fail to eat a balanced diet and with the supplements CBD can provide that would help to maintain our internal nutrients. The cannabinoids like CBD from hemp can build up in your body and stimulate the ECS receptors. This would only help to make your ECS become more active and sensitive to stimulation. It would improve your ECS to achieve and maintain homeostasis in your body. So, it may not be a necessity to take CBD supplements daily, but as a preventative measure, it could be considered wise. It could help keep your body running like a well-oiled machine, and I would like to think everyone wants to have that. There is an old saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”, could we say something along those lines about daily use of CBD? I would like to think so.

Hey You! Yes, You! Here Is Our Take on the Hemp Farming Act of 2018

What could this mean for us? Well, let me explain a few things to you on this subject. The federal government has not previously distinguished the difference between industrial hemp and marijuana. The Hemp Farming Act of 2018 will clarify the specifications on the hemp that is included in this act. It will permanently legalize hemp and hemp products in all states. It is Senate Bill 2667 and House Bill 5485.

This means agriculturally speaking we can become financially stable here in the states. Hemp can grow on smaller acreage than other crops and multiple crops can be grown in one growing season. Hemp can adapt well to different types of growing conditions. Hemp plant can also improve the land; it can improve soil quality and improve the nutrients therein. Hemp requires way fewer pesticides and herbicides when grown on larger scales as compared to other crops. So, I say, we truly have an eco-friendly plant here! It is very sustainable. Just simply because it has a very low impact on our environment and is a very renewal source.

Hemp has vast potential. It can be used in multiple ways. It can be used as food; it is easier to digest than soy. Hemp is very high vitamin B and iron. The seeds can be added to several foods and can also be ground into a flour. Hemp seeds are high in natural oils like omega fatty acids, GLA, and EFA that are important to our heart and brain health. Hemp can be used as fuel; it could reduce carbon considerably and can reduce our reliance on oils. Hemp can be used as construction materials like Hempcrete; it could act as a natural insulation as well. Truly a renewable material source. Hemp could be used for clothing; hemp fibers are way stronger than typical cotton is. It would be a very breathable material aiding in regulating body temperature. It would also make the material anti-microbial. Hemp bark has bast fibers and could be used to make household furnishings as well. Hemp could be used for many different textiles like paper and plastics; hemp paper and hemp plastics are biodegradable. Hemp can also be used as medicine; the non-psychoactive cannabinoids found in hemp have healing properties and so do the terpenes found in hemp. The cannabinoids have properties like anti-inflammatory, pain relief, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, sleep aid, and energy aid and so much more.

George Washing once said, “Make the most of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere”. He grew it and actively promoted its growth. You can find this quote in the “Library of Congress” website from George Washington’s diary and letters.

I certainly hope after reading this article you understand a little more about how important the Hemp Farming Act of 2018 could be for us all. Don’t forget to look us up on social media.

Pissed Off!

It really pisses me off for people to be taken advantage of in the CBD/Hemp market. With this market growing so fast there is the potential to be scammed. It took years for YSC to work with another company besides Holy Grail. The fact is, we couldn’t find another company that put passion before price point. Everyone was so concerned with the price that the simple idea of getting quality cannabinoids to people who need them was lost for a while. Wasn’t this the original attraction of this plant? Natural Wellness? “But it says Hemp on the bottle”. While this may be true, that doesn’t make it Cannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil. Don’t get me wrong, hemp oil itself has its benefits, but CB cannabinoids that’s where the magic happens. Now, how do you find these quality CB hemp oils?

I suggest you first do your own research before buying any CBD/Hemp product. You need to research the company first then ask them questions like:

  1. Is this Cannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil?
  2. Do you have certified lab reports from a reputable certified lab on each batch?
  3. How is the CBD/other cannabinoid extracted for this product?
  4. From which part of the plant is it extracted?
  5. What type of product is going to be the most beneficial for personal use?
  6. What are the reviews on this product in the market?

If the vendor is smart they will have researched the products they handle first, then that vendor should test products before selling them. They should have a complete understanding of the product and be willing to produce lab results from a reputable certified lab. People who are in this industry for the right reasons, Know Their Stuff! If the person you are working with is dodging questions or knows nothing but the price on the bottle, you probably should skip that spot.

I have been told by so many that come to our retail partner shops that the product they purchased elsewhere did not perform as expected and/or they paid a handsome price for that said product. I hate for people to go through that. For one thing, they are out the money for the said product then they are out even more because they purchase again to replace the product that did not perform as expected. I ask myself all the time, why? I realize people want to save money where they can but is it really saving money when the product doesn’t work as expected? Not to mention the emotional letdown of the experience and your time as well. We all know that time cannot be replaced once it is lost. Some people seeking help cannot afford wasted time. I feel this kind of experience for people leads to a tarnish on the companies that handle good products that work. It also tarnishes the market for that type of product giving credence to the nay-sayers. Once again, it just plain pisses me off for the most important fact is that I have been using good CBD Rich Hemp Oils that have been my miracle! I want it to be a miracle for someone else.

So, let’s all get involved in making a difference in this industry. I for one, intend on sharing my testimony, sharing the testimonies of others, and the knowledge I have gained in my journey for a more natural wellness path. I feel sharing is caring.

Oh! The stories we have heard! Why CBD products are not all equal!

For centuries people of all walks of life have used natural and holistic healing methods. In today’s time the CBD and Full spectrum hemp product explosion is taking the world by surprise. In an effort to obtain the best price on these products on the market many people have tried several brands from several different locations without understanding them fully. Some of us, at some point, has heard something about hemp derived CBD products and how it could help overall health. It is very disconcerting that so many products have come to this market and people really don’t know anything about them. Take for example a lady I am going to call Ms. “K”. She bought some products from her local health food and herb shop. Her comments to us were she “purchased a product of very high mg of CBD but it just did not seem to do for her the way products she had previously purchased from us”. Now Ms. “K” is now back with us purchasing her CBD and Full Spectrum Hemp Oils. She has found out the hard way that quality cannot be substituted and that not all CBD or hemp products are created equal. The old saying “You get what you pay for” comes to my mind with this situation. It is important to know the product is of the best quality. Ms. “K” isn’t the only one we have heard these same stories from. We talk to each and every person who comes to us to find out a little bit about them.

Here at Your Sunshine Company we fully understand all the products we have brought in. We first research the product then the company the product is made by. We ask questions like; from which plant did the CBD or other CB cannabinoids come from? How is it extracted? What are the current reviews for this product? Is the product Organic, Non-GMO, and Bio-available? Does this product contain THC and if so is it within guidelines set by State and Federal laws? We ask to see certified lab reports on the products. What are all the ingredients in the product?  Then we bring it in for testing by our knowledgeable team members. So, every product we have has been personally tested and passed our critiquing before we sell it.  We fully trust every product we have in stock. We know that seems like a lot to do but we feel it is in the best interest of not only us but our clients as well. We truly want to make a real difference. So, let us put a little sunshine in your life today and every day!
