Hey You! Yes, You! Here Is Our Take on the Hemp Farming Act of 2018

What could this mean for us? Well, let me explain a few things to you on this subject. The federal government has not previously distinguished the difference between industrial hemp and marijuana. The Hemp Farming Act of 2018 will clarify the specifications on the hemp that is included in this act. It will permanently legalize hemp and hemp products in all states. It is Senate Bill 2667 and House Bill 5485.

This means agriculturally speaking we can become financially stable here in the states. Hemp can grow on smaller acreage than other crops and multiple crops can be grown in one growing season. Hemp can adapt well to different types of growing conditions. Hemp plant can also improve the land; it can improve soil quality and improve the nutrients therein. Hemp requires way fewer pesticides and herbicides when grown on larger scales as compared to other crops. So, I say, we truly have an eco-friendly plant here! It is very sustainable. Just simply because it has a very low impact on our environment and is a very renewal source.

Hemp has vast potential. It can be used in multiple ways. It can be used as food; it is easier to digest than soy. Hemp is very high vitamin B and iron. The seeds can be added to several foods and can also be ground into a flour. Hemp seeds are high in natural oils like omega fatty acids, GLA, and EFA that are important to our heart and brain health. Hemp can be used as fuel; it could reduce carbon considerably and can reduce our reliance on oils. Hemp can be used as construction materials like Hempcrete; it could act as a natural insulation as well. Truly a renewable material source. Hemp could be used for clothing; hemp fibers are way stronger than typical cotton is. It would be a very breathable material aiding in regulating body temperature. It would also make the material anti-microbial. Hemp bark has bast fibers and could be used to make household furnishings as well. Hemp could be used for many different textiles like paper and plastics; hemp paper and hemp plastics are biodegradable. Hemp can also be used as medicine; the non-psychoactive cannabinoids found in hemp have healing properties and so do the terpenes found in hemp. The cannabinoids have properties like anti-inflammatory, pain relief, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, sleep aid, and energy aid and so much more.

George Washing once said, “Make the most of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere”. He grew it and actively promoted its growth. You can find this quote in the “Library of Congress” website from George Washington’s diary and letters.

I certainly hope after reading this article you understand a little more about how important the Hemp Farming Act of 2018 could be for us all. Don’t forget to look us up on social media.

Pissed Off!

It really pisses me off for people to be taken advantage of in the CBD/Hemp market. With this market growing so fast there is the potential to be scammed. It took years for YSC to work with another company besides Holy Grail. The fact is, we couldn’t find another company that put passion before price point. Everyone was so concerned with the price that the simple idea of getting quality cannabinoids to people who need them was lost for a while. Wasn’t this the original attraction of this plant? Natural Wellness? “But it says Hemp on the bottle”. While this may be true, that doesn’t make it Cannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil. Don’t get me wrong, hemp oil itself has its benefits, but CB cannabinoids that’s where the magic happens. Now, how do you find these quality CB hemp oils?

I suggest you first do your own research before buying any CBD/Hemp product. You need to research the company first then ask them questions like:

  1. Is this Cannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil?
  2. Do you have certified lab reports from a reputable certified lab on each batch?
  3. How is the CBD/other cannabinoid extracted for this product?
  4. From which part of the plant is it extracted?
  5. What type of product is going to be the most beneficial for personal use?
  6. What are the reviews on this product in the market?

If the vendor is smart they will have researched the products they handle first, then that vendor should test products before selling them. They should have a complete understanding of the product and be willing to produce lab results from a reputable certified lab. People who are in this industry for the right reasons, Know Their Stuff! If the person you are working with is dodging questions or knows nothing but the price on the bottle, you probably should skip that spot.

I have been told by so many that come to our retail partner shops that the product they purchased elsewhere did not perform as expected and/or they paid a handsome price for that said product. I hate for people to go through that. For one thing, they are out the money for the said product then they are out even more because they purchase again to replace the product that did not perform as expected. I ask myself all the time, why? I realize people want to save money where they can but is it really saving money when the product doesn’t work as expected? Not to mention the emotional letdown of the experience and your time as well. We all know that time cannot be replaced once it is lost. Some people seeking help cannot afford wasted time. I feel this kind of experience for people leads to a tarnish on the companies that handle good products that work. It also tarnishes the market for that type of product giving credence to the nay-sayers. Once again, it just plain pisses me off for the most important fact is that I have been using good CBD Rich Hemp Oils that have been my miracle! I want it to be a miracle for someone else.

So, let’s all get involved in making a difference in this industry. I for one, intend on sharing my testimony, sharing the testimonies of others, and the knowledge I have gained in my journey for a more natural wellness path. I feel sharing is caring.

Oh! The stories we have heard! Why CBD products are not all equal!

For centuries people of all walks of life have used natural and holistic healing methods. In today’s time the CBD and Full spectrum hemp product explosion is taking the world by surprise. In an effort to obtain the best price on these products on the market many people have tried several brands from several different locations without understanding them fully. Some of us, at some point, has heard something about hemp derived CBD products and how it could help overall health. It is very disconcerting that so many products have come to this market and people really don’t know anything about them. Take for example a lady I am going to call Ms. “K”. She bought some products from her local health food and herb shop. Her comments to us were she “purchased a product of very high mg of CBD but it just did not seem to do for her the way products she had previously purchased from us”. Now Ms. “K” is now back with us purchasing her CBD and Full Spectrum Hemp Oils. She has found out the hard way that quality cannot be substituted and that not all CBD or hemp products are created equal. The old saying “You get what you pay for” comes to my mind with this situation. It is important to know the product is of the best quality. Ms. “K” isn’t the only one we have heard these same stories from. We talk to each and every person who comes to us to find out a little bit about them.

Here at Your Sunshine Company we fully understand all the products we have brought in. We first research the product then the company the product is made by. We ask questions like; from which plant did the CBD or other CB cannabinoids come from? How is it extracted? What are the current reviews for this product? Is the product Organic, Non-GMO, and Bio-available? Does this product contain THC and if so is it within guidelines set by State and Federal laws? We ask to see certified lab reports on the products. What are all the ingredients in the product?  Then we bring it in for testing by our knowledgeable team members. So, every product we have has been personally tested and passed our critiquing before we sell it.  We fully trust every product we have in stock. We know that seems like a lot to do but we feel it is in the best interest of not only us but our clients as well. We truly want to make a real difference. So, let us put a little sunshine in your life today and every day!

Wish We Could Kick ALS Butt! Can Hemp Cannabinoids Help?

You may ask “What is ALS?”. I sure did, so I started asking myself questions as I started reading different articles on the internet from the ALS sites, ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) Also Known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The name itself means no muscle nourishment. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The neurons will die and stop sending messages to the muscles in the body. * I found as I read, ALS is similar to MS with some very intense differences, however, this disease affects a person so much quicker than MS and it will lead to death for the afflicted individual. Uncontrollable shaking will most likely be present in someone suffering from ALS. The ability to move, eat, speak and breath continue to worsen with this disease. Weakness is a symptom and so is trouble swallowing. Some who have ALS will drool uncontrollably.  Most of those afflicted with ALS will die from respiratory failure, but not all will suffer from the same symptoms.

Researchers have identified the molecular signature of the immune cells involved in this disease.  They now have a better understanding of the disease and the role the disease related cells in which surround the dying motor neurons. We know that the symptoms of this disease are devastating to the human body. **

With the Hemp plant containing CB cannabinoids and having neuroprotective qualities (^) and antioxidant properties among other fantastic properties, some reports have entertained the idea that it could possibly be a phenomenal way to address some of the issues ALS presents. ***It could possibly slow the progression of the disease. CB cannabinoids are anti-spasmatic, anti-inflammatory, help fight pain, increase better sleep patterns, and can assist in bronchodilation. Cannabinoids can assist in cell generation and bone development. **** One report from NCBI stated that other cannabinoids may prove to be novel therapeutic targets for treatment in ALS.

It is most likely that all the symptoms of ALS could be relieved with the CB cannabinoids in Hemp according to the studies I have referenced. It is the opinion of this writer after all the reading and researching that Hemp cannabinoids could possibly very well do so much more for ALS than all the referenced reports suggest. However, we definitely need to have more research done in this field before any us of could positively say one way or the other.

Say What?!? CB cannabinoids interact with which receptors?

CB cannabinoids are very powerful and will interact with certain receptors in the Endocannabinoid System in the body (ESC). The cannabinoids will bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors and fit the receptor like a lock and key. When they bind they cause a communication response within the body prompting the neurons to act in a way that allows the body to correct what is wrong. Our bodies produced cannabinoids naturally at a certain stage of our lives then stopped. So, we know the cannabis plant (Hemp) has cannabinoids that will bind to our receptors as well and those cannabinoids are called Phytocannabinoids. These cannabinoids are for all intense purposes non-psychoactive. They can act as a powerful supplement to our ECS system. The CB1 receptor is mainly the messenger receptor and the CB2 receptor is the immune receptor. CB1 receptors are primarily on nerve cells in the brain, spinal cord, and in white blood cells, and in the endocrine glands and in peripheral organs (reproductive organs, gastrointestinal tract & urinary tract). CB2 receptors are found in the white blood cells, tonsils, spleen and the immune system. These receptors play a very important role in our health every day.

Those CB cannabinoids and the receptors they affect and bind to are as follows:

CBG – Cannabigerol CB1 & CB2 receptors – parent to CBD, 1st cannabinoid formed in Hemp plant – helps fight cancer, is anti-inflammatory, helps glaucoma, promotes bone growth

CBDA – Cannabidiolic Acid CB1 & CB2 receptors – a precursor to CBD, helps decrease nausea and vomiting, is anti-tumor (cancer-fighting), and promotes bone growth

CBD – Cannabidiol CB1 & CB2 receptors –  helps fight epilepsy, cancer, depression, anxiety, pain, and diabetes, it also helps with psychotic disorders, nausea, and is anti-inflammatory

CBC – Cannabichromene CB1 & CB2 receptors – helps fight cancer, depression, inflammation, and pain, it is antifungal and encourages brain growth; needs terpene to bind to receptors

CBL – Cannabicyclol is connected to CBC – light converts CBC to CBL – binds to the same receptors and helps with the same issues

CBN – Cannabinol CB1 & CB2 receptors – helps in pain relief, sleep aid, anti-convulsant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and promotes bone growth, has mild sedative qualities

Just think all the CB cannabinoids listed above come from the Hemp plant. These CB cannabinoids could possibly become the very best natural supplement for overall health issues and lead us to a healthier and happier life. I encourage you to do your own research be more informed of all the possibilities for a more natural way of healing.

Terpenes and the Harmony they can create with Hemp Oils

Terpenes are defined as aromatic molecules that come from plants, this includes scent, flavor, and color. In other words, they are the essential oils within a plant. They can have certain health benefits such as sleep aids, calming effects, killing bacteria, aiding digestion and so many more things. What is a molecule? Well, a molecule is an electrically neutral group of two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds. Meaning a group of atoms bonded together that represent the smallest fundamental unit of a chemical compound. Terpenes have been used in natural healing for years. Terpenes have different functions in plants. The more we delve into the natural world the more we come to understanding how those things can complement each other and work in harmony together. https://www.steephill.com/science/terpenes

Hemp plants also have terpenes of their own and each terpene will target certain issues. There are around 200 terpenes found in Hemp. These terpenes in hemp will intensify the healing properties. It also creates a larger medicinal experience with the whole plant rather than the individual components of the plant by themselves. Certain terpenes can increase the rate the body will absorb the CB cannabinoids of hemp. Some CB cannabinoids need a terpene to bind to the CB receptors. Like the aromatic herbs we cook with in our kitchens to create the ultimate dish, terpenes create a broad range of flavors, aromas, and overall medicinal benefits within hemp.  So, when you think about it is as if a beautiful song is being sung in harmony or a great marriage that produces a beautiful/grand family.

A-Pinene will aide in reducing swelling (anti-inflammatory), helps with opening airways in the bronchi areas, keeps memory sharp, and helps kill bacteria. Linalool cleans and sanitizes (anesthetic), works as a pain reliever (analgesic), and is calming for anxiety. Beta-Caryophyllene is anti-inflammatory, helps relieve pain, and protects the cells lining your digestive tract. Myrcene contributes to sedative properties and aids in sleep, it also helps calm the muscles. Limonene helps reduce acids in the stomach, esophagus, and intestines, it has calming properties to ease anxiety and helps lift one’s spirits helping with depression. As you can see I have listed the medicinal qualities of the terpenes found in hemp. Terpenes can be found in other natural plants and herbs as well. They are great alone but when teamed up with the CB cannabinoids they can produce magnificent combined results.

Wow! Can CBD really do that? A Journey into Autism

Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder. It involves impaired social interactions and impaired verbal and non-verbal communication. It has restricted and repetitive behavior for those afflicted with it. It also has unique strengths and differences. There are many types of Autism caused by different combinations of environmental and genetic influences. The most obvious signs of Autism appear between the ages of 2 and 3 years of age. It can be diagnosed as early as 18 months. Early intervention can highly improve the outcome of this disorder for some individuals.  1 in 68 children will have Autism in the United States. One-third of those with Autism will remain non-verbal and one third will have an intellectual disability. There are medical conditions that will accompany Autism such as GI (stomach & intestinal) disorders, sleep disturbances, seizures, anxiety and phobias, attention and hyperactivity disorders. Autism is like a jigsaw puzzle, sometimes difficult to understand. It requires a lifetime of care for those afflicted with it. Treating Autism can be very difficult because not all afflicted with it will have the same symptoms.  *

What if I told you that studies have shown that the symptoms of Autism could possibly be eased if not reversed with a simple yet effective natural remedy called CBD Hemp Oil. CBD Hemp Oil has so many great qualities but most of all the human body has a receptor system in it called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS protects the cells in the body and it impacts various biological processes in the body including Autism among other health issues. **

Cannabinoids are multipurpose agents that support our ECS system in our bodies. CBD, CBG, CBN, and CBC are cannabinoids found in the male Hemp Plant in the cannabis family. CB Cannabinoids can help with GI problems, mental disorders (anxiety, hyperactivity, attention, depression, & etc), pain, inflammation, seizures, support bone & developmental growth, regulate hormone production, regulate sleep patterns, and protect cells (CB Cannabinoids are neuroprotective as well). As you can see the very things CB cannabinoids help with have been reported symptoms of Autism.  Here again, be informed and I strongly encourage you to do your own research. **

Can CBD help Dementia and Alzheimer’s?

Dementia affects 47.5 million worldwide today. Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life. It is caused by physical changes in the brain. Loss of memory and other mental abilities are affected in those who have dementia. Neurodegeneration is a feature common to various types of Dementia. The most common form of Dementia is Alzheimer’s Disease. Alzheimer’s Disease is a progressive disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually the ability to carry out the simplest of tasks. In most people with Alzheimer’s, symptoms first appear in their mid-60’s. It is the most common cause of premature senility. 5.4 million Americans have Alzheimer’s Disease today. This is very sad and heart-wrenching statistically speaking. Alzheimer’s Disease accounts for 60 to 80% of Dementia cases. When someone is diagnosed with this terrible disease the entire family is involved in this illness as many will become the caregivers for the afflicted individual. The cause of Dementia/Alzheimer’s is a total shrinking of the brain. The tissue of the brain progressively has fewer neurons because the neurons will stop functioning, lose connections with other neurons and eventually die. You see those neurons have a symbiotic relationship and cannot live without each other.

Typical medications commonly prescribed for Alzheimer’s/Dementia are acetylcholinesterase inhibitors such as Exelon, Reminyl, Cognex, Aricept ODT, and Namzaric. Those medications can alleviate symptoms but cannot delay the progression or erase the disease. They can have some severe side effects in some individuals as well. See for yourself on Namzaric’s website what possible side effects they have listed.      http://tinyurl.com/y9oj6odg.      Some people will deem that those side effects are worse than the disease itself. For that very reason, I chose to write this piece.

In this writer’s opinion and experience, most ailments can be treated in a more natural fashion without harmful side effects. Cannabidiol (CBD) is at the forefront of natural treatment options for me simply because of the Endocannabinoid System already in our bodies (which is the receptor system for CBD). CBD is a multifaceted treatment option and comes to us from a natural plant that has been around since before recorded Biblical times.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is neuroprotective, it reverses and prevents the development of cognitive deficits, it is also antipsychotic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. CBD can protect the brain by reducing inflammation.  CBD also promotes cell survival and can interrupt the pathological process in Dementia and Alzheimer’s. CBD has immunosuppressive effects. The Endocannabinoid System is closely linked with the process of adult neurogenesis (brain cell growth). As a matter of fact, the CB2 receptor (already in your brain) has shown to be a promising target for Alzheimer’s therapy.  As you can read for yourself in the reports I found on the NCBI site. This could possibly be a solid treatment answer to the Dementia/Alzheimer’s epidemic we face in today’s world. Of course, more research into this very subject is warranted and much needed.

CBD for PTSD and other mental disorders

Mental disorders such as PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Schizophrenia, ADHD, Bi-polar, and others deal with neurotransmitters that communicate with each other resulting in thinking, emotions, remembering, moving, and other things most of us take for granted. Neurotransmitters are cells of the nervous system in your body, mostly in the brain. Well, guess what? The majority of the CB receptors in your body are also in the brain. When those neurotransmitters are not communicating correctly the levels of serotonin in your brain go haywire causing the dopamine to be altered. When those dopamine levels are not right you have the result of some type of mental disorder. The National Alliance of Mental Health (NAMI) states that mental illness is common throughout the United States and tens of millions are affected by it and that only half of those individuals receive treatment. A very sad statistic if you ask me.

Wouldn’t it be grand if we could eliminate the problem of mental disorders altogether? Well, we cannot. Some of us believe a more natural way to treat mental issues is warranted. People don’t want the mental disorder they live with and everyone wants to live a happier and healthier life without the mental anguish.

The pharmaceutical medications used to treat mental disorders can have severe side effects. A portion of the individuals suffering from mental disorders will choose to stop medicating because the side effects are worse than their illness. What if I told you that CBD (Cannabidiol) Hemp Oil could be the answer to managing those illnesses without severe side effects. CBD Hemp Oils reacts with the CB receptors already in your body and those receptors are abundant in the brain. CBD is Non-Psychoactive and anxiolytic, meaning it does not cause psychosis and helps reduce the levels of anxiety. CBD is also known to keep serotonin levels in check which keeps dopamine at the proper level. The psychological community has entertained the idea of treatment with CBD to be somewhat beneficial and some have stated CBD has a profile similar to antipsychotic drugs. See for yourself in these reports. https://ww.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/227161600, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/ 22729452 and https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/PMC3079847

As a matter of fact; I have witnessed CBD Hemp Oil help an individual with PTSD. One of our clients at the Puff Smart store in Branson West had a moderate case of PTSD when he returned home from Afghanistan. He has been using CBD for about two years now. When he first came into our store he was having difficulty being in larger crowds of people, certain sounds would cause a panic within him, and his sleep patterns were terribly off so he experienced bouts of unexplainable anger. Within the first month of using CBD Hemp Oil, I noticed a huge difference in his overall personality. Today he is incredibly and remarkably a different person for the better.

Nerves are screaming from Multiple Sclerosis, you could calm them with CBD Hemp Oil.

Multiple Sclerosis commonly called MS is a very devastating disease that affects one’s central nervous system and gradually weakens bodily function by attacking the cells of the brain and spinal column. It is a progressive autoimmune disorder by medical definition which eats away at the myelin in one’s body (the coverings that protect the nerve cells). MS affects two times more women than men for reasons unknown. Those who suffer from MS have varying symptoms such as problems with eyesight, digestive issues, loss of control of bladder and bowels, pain, numbness/tingling and pin prickling sensations, depression, tremors, muscle spasms, trouble concentrating, occasional slurred speech, and trouble with sleep patterns. Not every person with MS will have the same symptoms. Some individuals suffer from permanent nerve damage and lose the ability to walk and some lose their eyesight.

The most common pharmaceuticals prescribed are; corticosteroids, anti-seizure meds, plasma exchanges, strong muscle relaxers, anti-depressants and strong opiate painkillers. These medications have little effect on the disease itself, they are prescribed for the relief of symptoms presented by the individual. I myself as someone with MS have had most of the symptoms and all but one of the pharmaceuticals above with little success until I started using Cannabidiol (CBD Rich Hemp Oils). I added B12, Magnesium, and Vitamin D to my CBD regiment as well. Then my journey took an amazing turn for the better. Goodbye to most of the pharmaceuticals for me. Yay!

CBD helps protect the brain, eases the pain, stops stiffness/muscle spasms, stabilizes sleep patterns, reduces inflammation, stops depression, helps digestion, and helps protect your eyes. I know this because I am living proof.

I encourage you to do your own research. You can find some reports on the subject @ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23851307 and https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28412918. Always check with your physician before starting any type of new dietary supplement.
